Back To Nature

This is a handbuilt ceramic plate designed to hang on the wall. The work measures 24 cm diameter and 2 cm depth. The plate was handbuilt and decorated using layers of coloured porcelain slip and underglaze, hand cut paper stencils and sgraffito (carving). The plate features Tim's iconic Bangalow Palm motif and is accompanied by the original text: When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Back To Nature. This piece subverts the standard idea about what tough is and how tough people should behave, it reaffirms the power and importance of nature to everyone.
